Dear Members:

I hope you had an enjoyable and memorable summer. We did not do our usual traveling as my Mother was in failing health and passed at age ninety-one. While in Sarasota, I was bombarded with political advertising from certain candidates. I was struck that the number one topic of contention was education. The political climate in Florida seems to be all about education these days.

As Phi Beta Kappa graduates we want an educational system that is second to none. We want students at all levels to have a premier education and to become productive and knowledgeable citizens.
